Northern Ireland 1-0 Scotland
Date Played – 21st October 1967

In a thrilling match played at Belfast, Northern Ireland turned on the style as they defeated a strong Scottish side to put them back in within a chance of qualifying for the 1968 European Championships. It proved to be the third consecutive time that the Irish had beaten Scotland in Belfast as George Best was in outstanding form for Northern Ireland, in what was probably his finest ever match for Northern Ireland.
